GEAR HOMESTEAD WEDDING: MARK + EMMA

Emma and Mark are the kind of couple any photographer would want to work with. They are the kind of people you would want to surround yourself with as much as you can. The kind of friends you would want to keep for the longest time.

Knowing them was a great privilege and to be part of their most special day, was nothing less than honor.

Here’s to take us back to their day filled with sugar and spice and everything so nice.

We believe it was destiny, clearly, that brought us to their lives. It was October last year when we first met them. A month after, I (Redge) started on my new role and met this lovely lady called Faye who since then, has been like my second mother. About February this year, Faye and I were having a chat and found out that she is actually Mark’s mother. Funny was, I met Mark even before I met her and to make the world even smaller, Bill, Mark’s Dad was actually my boss from a previous job five years ago. That, we only found out on their wedding day.

Doing their engagement shoot gave us a chance to know them even better. It also gave us a million and one reasons to look forward to the day they finally say “I do”. After half a year of wait, it finally happened and it was everything we had imagined.

I came across this quote and have been reading this to myself every now and then since.

“We can do no great things, only small things with great love.” — Mother Theresa

Their wedding was a reminder of  that and I am sure every one who knows them would vouch that it is true. The time and effort that they have both put in to make their wedding a perfect one for them amazed and inspired so many. People who have seen these photos have complimented us of how beautiful they are and we have the same reply each time. Emma and Mark are beautiful people, inside and out. Hence we have learned to love them and out of it came these great things.

And to you both, I always thought the first line is the hard part but it’s this end that I am struggling with.

You have been really amazing and we’re really grateful that you chose us. Emma, you have been one of the most organized brides we have ever worked with. You made me smile when you sent me the list of your vendors in the middle of your honeymoon all the way from Thailand. Your family was such a pleasure to know and I fell in love with your Mum right at the first hour (but don’t ask me to choose between your Mum and her house coz I might have to choose the house). Mark, what can we say. You have a very kind heart and we really appreciate how you looked after us especially on your biggest day when the least you should do is worry about whether your photographers have eaten. Your wedding was everything that you both are. The slow dance followed by the Gangnam style, exactly what makes you both very dear.

All the e-mails and text messages, they will be so much missed but this is not the end. That, we trust.

Stay in love, Redge (and Meeko, of course)
