We woke up to a very nice day that Saturday with the rays of the morning sun creeping through our bedroom curtains. It will be a perfect day to get married, we thought. Just what Andy and Petra deserve especially that they waited nine years to finally make true this dream. Petra has always imagined marrying Andy under the blue sky and the mighty sun. There just couldn’t be any other way.
About an hour and a half before the wedding, I felt my heart slowly break into pieces as I hear the rain hit the windows followed by strong hail. I silently prayed for it to be over and that the skies would clear in time for the wedding but it seemed like it was not going to happen. Meeko, who went ahead to the venue, called and said that it was raining hard there and that they have set a room inside for the ceremony. Maybe, it has to be that way.
I rode with Petra and her sister, Paula in the bridal car. During the drive, I noticed Petra constantly looking at the sky. You can tell she was still hanging on that tiny thread of hope that how she’s always imagined her wedding day to be, would be.
And how fascinating that ten minutes before she was set to get off the car and walk up to meet her man, the sky started to turn blue and the sun slowly made its way through the clouds.
Andy and Petra married each other under the blue sky and the mighty sun.
And yes, there couldn’t be any other way.

Andy and Petra, thank you for entrusting us with the memories of your wedding day. Everything that happened and did not happen then made it extra special and definitely impossible to forget. We feel very honoured to have been part of it — even the toilet stop in the cinema 🙂 You both have been incredibly amazing to work with. With you, we really felt at home and for that, we are most grateful.
There is no doubt that you are meant for each other and we wish you all the best in your years ahead.
Rocking chairs, it will be!!!
Much love.
