“I got a little close and that’s all it took. I was captured. Because sometimes that is what happens when the heart recognises home.” — J. M. Storm
In 2012, they both moved to Christchurch to pursue their careers. In medicine for her and in engineering, for him. That was their sole plan. But on the 12th of June that year, everything changed. Because they met. Both away from home but in each other found just that.
Five years later, they dressed into a white gown and a grey suit and married each other in the cutest little church in Wairarapa. The church was filled with people most dear in their hearts and that alone could have made their day perfect. Because that is the kind of people they are, relationships come most important to them. But the heavens must have thought that people as nice as they are deserve more so it made the skies so blue, the sun bright and the 17th of March turned out to be one of the most gorgeous days in Autumn.
From the church, everyone proceeded to Poppies Martinborough where their guests enjoyed more of the sun but this time with a glass of wine on hand. Shortly we took them both outside for photos. We love these moments when the bride and groom sneak away from their party and look at each other without a soul watching (but us). That moment is always special. Their eyes speak so loudly of how happy they are and how proud too, that after months of preparation, they finally made it. It finally happened. They are now a husband and a wife.
Their hearts are home.

Becky and Kane, thank you, thank you, thank you. It feels like no matter how many times we say it, it will never be enough. You two have been amazing from Day 1, when you welcomed us into your humble home . Your welcome, as warm as the coffee you made us. Then on your wedding day, you introduced us to your family and dearest friends and they are just as nice as you two are. We appreciated the kind and attentive care everyone gave us that day. Thank you.
We know you are in New Plymouth right now Becky completing your pediatric exams. We hope these photos will inspire you to nail it. We bet you cannot wait to come home to your man. We wish you nothing but the best in the days ahead. We’re sure your UK wedding will be just as amazing.
Much love.
