I remember how it was raining really hard on our way to their wedding . I remember how I was feeling so sorry for them. I remember too though how when we arrived, Channa greeted us with this ribbon smile while saying “this weather kind of cheated on us but everything will be just fine.” I remember telling myself after that “this will be a great day” and how I saw everything with a ray of sun since then.

Everyone who was there will agree that the day went perfectly despite the rain. There was golden light coming through the glass windows during the ceremony. The blue sky along with the sun made their way in time for the group photos and Chris and Channa couldn’t be happier because we were able to go to the spots they wanted to have their photos as newlyweds taken at. And of course, everyone they wanted to be there was there to celebrate with them.

On our way home, I was telling myself how silly it was of me to feel sorry for them just because it was raining hard. I remembered that no rain can ever stop two people so in love from marrying each other and that these two, Channa and Chris, their love, really, is waterproof.

To you both, we thank you for the opportunity of knowing you and the people most dear to you. Meeko and I feel very lucky and really honoured to have been part of your wedding day.

Channa, keep on inspiring people with your personality. Meeko and I drew most of our inspiration that day from you — how you kept positive and spread happiness the entire day even when the rain was pouring at its hardest. I know it could have been a more perfect day for you if your Mum was there. I remember seeing you gaze through the window while you were getting dressed. I was very certain you were thinking of her and imagining having her around. That sight made me stop and just stare at you for awhile. I remember how my heart was filled with sadness and happiness at the same time. I am very sure though she was looking down on you with the same ribbon smile you have, feeling very proud because you made a very beautiful bride inside and out.

Chris, you are one good man. From day 1 we could already tell how in love you are with Channa and on your wedding, you proved that even more. I will not forget how you cried as you watch her walk towards you and how you tried to keep yourself together by wiping those tears (when you thought no one was watching). It was a treat listening to your emcee’s short speech about you. It made us know you even more and appreciate you even more  than we already do.
